A playful threesome.

My first ‘hands’ idea came from somewhere in my head, in 2008, and I enlisted the hands of my son and my partner to ‘write’ the word ‘love’. When, in 2010, it was spotted by a hand therapist, she asked if I had more, and so I created more and a couple now decorate her clinic. I propagated people in pots, pushed up daisies, and arranged my fingered stems in a vase.

When the subject returned months later (thanks for the ‘shove’, Ferg!) somehow within a couple of minutes I had thought to create ‘ménage à trois’ – a playful threesome, of hands.

I seem to work best when given an idea or subject and a limited time to produce a result, so a good friend has kindly offered to set me a subject each time I’m in need of one – her first is ‘upside down’, which has sent me into a spin over all the wonderful possibilities!

  3. The overlay reminds me of snakeskin and the picture is all intertwined so three becomes many becomes one.
