Dont forget the colours

Sometimes it is just about the colours in an image that grab my heart and make me love it.  I know photography is all about light, but don't forget the colours too.  I guess this posting has caught me in a sentimental mood but I wanted to share these lyrics again with you.  When it's been a shit day, or it seems to be all uphill, and the books don't balance and the spark of life is about as brilliant as that of the dog in the banking advert, don't forget to remember the colours.

I see trees of green…….. red roses too
I see them bloom….. for me and for you
And I think to myself…. what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue….. clouds of white
Bright blessed days….dark sacred nights
And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world.

The colours of a rainbow… pretty the sky
Are also on the faces…..of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands…..sayin.. how do you do
They're really sayin……I love you.

I hear babies cry…… I watch them grow
They'll learn much more…..than I'll ever know
And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world

  1. Lovely words, Pauline. Yes they do lift the spirits. It is a very appealing image you have posted.

  2. Pauline, you have taught me so much about the healing properties of photography. I love your image, I respond to it in such a positive way and I love the lyrics too. They say that putting a smile on your face when you feel down lifts your spirits immeasurably. You have done this with your photograph and lyrics. I hope your day has got better. Mine certainly has – thank you!

  3. Very good to remember and a great image to print.
